NEWS BRIEF
Intramedia
introduces a new traffic generation program,
based on the use of video components and latest search engine
optimization technology.
The
video traffic system in a nutshell:
# Produces rapid results
# Gets you "organic" (left side of the search results)
rankings that consumers trust most, so they are 50 times more likely to
click than “Sponsored Results”
# You get highly targeted traffic, pre-qualified leads and a surge of
inquires.
Background:
One of the mega-trends taking hold right now is the evolution to what's
called Web 2.0. It's a buzzword you see popping up all over the 'net.
It's basically a new model that promotes interactivity, user experience
and takes advantage of the increasing bandwidth for users. Web 2.0
brings the Internet closer, more personal than ever before.
Web 2.0 sites are online communities built around site-viewer and
viewer-viewer interaction.
That's why blogging, Social Networking sites such as MySpace and Video
sites like You Tube have exploded in the last 18 months.
It is no secret that video is becoming the predominant force on the
internet today.
According to a report released in December 2006 by Mediamark Research,
video usage is up 123.7% in one year.
comScore Media Metrix research indicated between April and June 2006, 94
Million U.S. based internet surfers viewed online videos… spending 73
minutes per month on average… EACH!
Emarketer estimates 123 MILLION Americans (almost half the population)
will view online video every month in 2007.
That's just the start.
Latest figures show that video now comprises 52% of all web
traffic.
YouTube.com alone gets 12% of all web traffic.
Obviously, the sheer growth of online video hosting services confirms
the trend. There are over 147 as of today. Certainly by now, you know
that You Tube was purchased by Google for
$1.65 BILLION in October of 2006. You Tube was only launched in
February 2005.
Alexa.com, the web's ranking service, reports that out of its top 30
sites, 10
are video sharing sites.
Search engines are always crawling the web looking for new content.
Fresh videos are picked up daily and get sensational rankings.
YouTube.com has 200 million videos viewed daily.
Which leads to the logical conclusion:
if you want to generate huge traffic to your site, take advantage
of these trends. In other
words, posting a video profile of your business on the right Web 2.0
sites will result in exposure to millions of viewers . . . at no cost for the traffic. The interesting fact is that people on these sites search them using very specific criteria, for example, Ft. Collins hardware, Loveland sculpture, Greeley restaurants, etc.
Specifics:
By simply uploading a video to a single video sharing site (there are
about 30 key ones) you get natural (unpaid) rankings almost immediately.
Text pages can take weeks to show up.
The difference is the voracious appetite sites have for video.
In uploading, all you need to do is choose your keywords (tags),
or keyword phrases… and you're on the most trusted side of the page
(left side) on multiple search engines.
You will be listed in the video services search rankings immediately.
And remember that 11 percent of surfers only want video content.
(Not a good trend, perhaps, but a fact.)
Recently an experiment was conducted by the Marketing Experiments
Journal. They created 28 different videos and submitted them to You Tube
and Google Video.
These videos were purposely made to look “amateurish” in both
approach and production. No sales message, no product placement and no
clever sales pitch. The results were compiled over two months… and
they were amazing.
A total of 324,190 views were recorded.
To put these results in context with PPC
(Pay Per Click, such as Google AdWords) they created the
following hypothetical comparison, assuming a mid-priced 30 cents per
click on PPC.
More
examples?
* Videos
of
two twenty something guys sitting on a couch with their laptops talking about the latest software and basically whatever interests them now got viewed 1.5 million times a month at Diggnation.org.
* Videos of three guys sitting behind a desk with their laptops
talking about Photoshop tips and tricks got viewed 2 million times a
month at PhotoshopTV.com.
* The biggest You
Tube phenomenon ever was Steve Spangler. (You may know him as the
Menthos abd Diet Coke guy - spurting Diet Cokes.)
Recently, he was voted #6 in Time Magazines Most Influential
People of the Year list! He beat out icons like Howard Stern, Bill Gates
and Al Gore!
A peculiar characteristic of video,
is that you never know which video service will get you the highest
search engine rankings. Even
though Google Video and You Tube are viewed the most, many times one of
the smaller video services gets you the best results in the organic
listings.
Naturally, 28 videos is a lot to produce.
Submitting them manually in different iterations would require a
full time employee. But even 3 submissions add up to over 32,000
visitors in 60 days using the same math. For just about any marketer,
those are significant numbers.
Our new automated service takes your videos and submits them to the top
video sites automatically without the drudgery of manual submission.
But simply submitting only once to each site is, in fact, missing
out on the exponential effect of multiple submissions.
In its second stage, our program automatically alters our video's
tags and compression ratios, creating a new multiple versions.
It submits each of these to multiple sites, each resulting in
another type of audience – by keyword – viewing that version.
And it does this in hours, not days.
As you have seen from the table above, the result is a significant
increase in traffic.
But traffic
generation is only part of the equation. You also need to
optimize
your website to 1) make it “search engine friendly” and 2) increase
your conversion rate of visitors into buyers.
(If you don't have a website, we create one for you as part of the
program.)
Search engine optimization (SEO) is an absolute necessity today if you
website is to achieve its full potential.
